    I probably should have specified. My Day 1 has the latest versions of the Switch firmware, Hekate and Atmosphere. The problems I described are what was happening. Splatoon 2 boots. It just will not want to load the Octo Expansion.

    Yes, I have both set up. I went through that guide thoroughly. Now when you mean "restore it", do you mean rid the system of all homebrew completely so that no security checks are triggered? Or do you mean just boot the non-homebrew memory? Nothing has been done with the Switch to go online...

    I do believe I have one. I read that official updated guide like 3 - 4 times over before I modded my Switch. Does the MMC have to be of the system memory or the one from the SD card? i also would not mind a more in depth explanation of your answer.
