    I'm guessing "yes". I can't see why it wouldn't work on the same firmware or moving from a lower to a higher. Test it before you actually need it. :)

    You can update whenever you want, either by using a game cart that has it included or via ChoiDuJourNX. If you ever want to downgrade, though, choose option 2 and do your homework.

    Switch Backup Manager! https://github.com/gibaBR/Switch-Backup-Manager Not much. It'll either complain with an error or a prompt to update the system OS. I think. Ever since XCI Explorer / Switch Backup Manager showed up I don't ever try installing those anymore.

    Make sure the 'archive' bit isn't set on any files. Files transferred via OSX have this problem a lot. Consider setting up a Windows share and mounting it via Samba. Save you a bit of time and a step or two.
