As much as I would love to... This is referring only to proofreading the script, and translating any text that might have been missed. I have no knowledge of what exactly EarthDarkness has done, and even if he gave me the code I'm sure I would need his help to understand it.
Felipe never responded to my comments on his pull request, so I'm assuming he's gone. I've been pretty busy lately but I have the week off so I've got some time now. My goal is to finish this proofreading by the end of the week.
EDIT: Destroying everyone's hopes and dreams
Well, it's not making it go any slower either. The most important things right now are script insertion and translation/proofreading, but not everyone has the necessary skills or time. For quite a while now we've had only a single person able to do each of those roles. One of whom has been MIA...
Old site is borked, all progress is now being tracked on Github. https://github.com/salixa/SNSC3-Translation
Best way for the average person to help would be to play through using oil_'s Subtitler program, and point out anything that seems incorrect with the grammar, phrasing, spelling, etc...
In the works. Most of them are translated but not yet converted to the proper format. They're being converted and proofread as I play through the game with oil's subtitler.
Yep.
It's pretty much the same as its been, just without much posting. I figure there isn't much of a reason to say "yeah I updated some text" every week when you can follow the github page. Between my other obligations I usually only have time once or twice a week to work on this.
Chill out, all I was asking is if you could include the name of the file with the error. Anyways, I fixed it. There were two issues here: one is that the line was wrong in run-dor's text, and second, the issue I just reported; same JP text, but the first occurance had an incorrect translation...
Not sure exactly what script that's in. For reporting issues please use "subtitler with console.bat" and include the code on the left side (ex: 17c478).
Regarding the odd capitalization, for Run-dor a decision was made in the early stages of the project to capitalize every word to emphasize him...
Oops, posted before I was finished.
Yep, some of those files are missing translations. That's not to say 3rd day is completely devoid of translations at all; when we did this originally, we went through the game and tried to find all the story scripts manually, and I focused efforts on those...
I went through and fixed up the XML parse errors I saw.
@oil_ So there are some differences in the parsers we're using. Yours gives me a list of 13 files with bad XML, while mine now passes parsing for all files. Some tags I found that were missing from your script's xml cleansing:
ASCII 34...
There's a name I didn't think I'd see again. Quite the entrance, after a 3 year hiatus. But hey, I'm not complaining.
Wew that is some nice work.
Having the visual to go with the text, and knowing exactly where each line is from is a big deal. This also means I'll be able to translate side...
Ah, yeah you probably won't be able to do much on mobile. I believe there are 3rd party apps that allow you to make changes but... I wouldn't be able to help you with those at the moment. I might check them out later.
In this case "match" is referring to a 1 on 1 fight, or a duel. Obviously...
No worries! GitHub is an example of Version Control Software, which essentially is a tool that helps multiple people collaborate on a shared project. It tracks changes in the form of "commits" and provides detailed history for any changes made to any file.
First off, you'll need a GitHub...
Only partially through the first day, not even close to being done. As others have said you'd be better off waiting for the full script insertion.
All of our script stuff can be found here: https://github.com/salixa/SNSC3-Translation
Main story stuff is translated and sorted chronologically...
Moonrunes is slang for Japanese writing.
The current approach for changing the JP text to English is to dig through the game's raw data and replace areas that are used for text display. Takes a long time because we don't know how to do it correctly. Imagine doing a heart transplant on a...
I feel like school, back when I was actually in school, was more entertaining though, because of how much I get to interact with people, hang out with friends, and other stuff like that. All I get to talk to at work is my boring coworkers lol
