Bit of a paranoid question here. I'm about to sell a retail game cart that I previously extracted using gateway. When you extract a game this way, does the cart remember somehow that it once had its data extracted? Normally I'm not so paranoid about something like this but when I'm selling...
Ah, great to hear then! I am unlinked. Mainly so I could change the SysNAND theme and such to keep me from doing something stupid! Haha. My eShop is working on emuNAND because I fixed the NNID in the SysNAND. I am 100% good to go. Thank you so much again. I feel smarter!
As far as I know Gateway only works until 9.2. You may have been reading about emuNAND support for 9.9 -- not 9.2 sysNAND. 9.2 is the last software version that lets you use web browser exploits. :(
Can I ask one more dumb (hopefully simple) question? I've heard from other rxtools guides that you should never visit Data Management in settings on SysNAND, even if you unlink EmuNAND. (guides like this one). Apparently it wipes your CIAs in emuNAND? I don't see how but the wording on that page...
Done! I successfully restored my sysNAND, then installed H&S FBI into rx sysNAND. I ran it, installed FBI 1.4.2 to SD. Ran updated FBI and installed 6.x settings. Worked! The settings app on SysNAND no longer has the Nintendo ID button at the top. I installed the MSET exploit and it works...
I am getting a bit confused. I need to think this through and understand how this works. Previously I've been thinking that NAND = goes to sysNAND, while SD goes to emuNAND. I am wrong in this. I'm not thinking about this correctly. NAND refers to the NAND I'm in currently, while SD refers to SD...
Hmm. It seems it's not liking my installation of FBI 1.4.2.
- Installed the H&S exploit to SysNAND
- Ran SysNAND in RX mode
- Opened H&S app in SysNAND
- Installed FBI 1.4.2 CIA to NAND
- Pressed home button
I was greeted with "New Software" but after unwrapping, the icon is just a black box...
Oh no! :( I have made quite the mistake, then. So I will have to reinstall the most recent MSET on emunand.
@pakrett above me, thank you! I will install that cia in emunand.
Thanks! It is indeed at 9.2.0-20U. I installed the 6.x settings to sysnand, not emunand, but I installed FBI 1.4.2 in emunand and had it write to sysnand from there. I pressed the L button in FBI to have it write the cia to "NAND" instead of "SD." I will try to run it from sysnand and install...
SysNAND 9.2, EmuNAND 9.9. The USA 0004001000021000 v5128 CIA I downloaded and installed with FBI 1.4.2 should have made my system settings 6.x.
Would it show my downgraded system settings version in the settings, or will it show the actual software version? Right now it says 9.2 in sysNAND if I...
Hmm, looks like I was too early for celebrating. I tried to run the MSET exploit to run rxtools through the browser with my newly-downgraded settings app on sysNAND. The screen glitched out for a second in the browser, and I got an error message, but navigating to the DS System Settings just...
Hey Samiam144, thank you so much man. I really appreciate the help. I now understand a lot better how this all works -- and I apologize for not having read the game save FAQ on the sticky (I thought it was about dumping saves, not firmware encryption -- next time I won't be so careless!)
I...
Hi everyone,
I'm afraid I'm at my wit's end with researching this and just feel stuck. I followed this guide and currently have rxTools working through the MSET exploit. The emunand opens just fine through the DS Profile Tool, and I can see the RX in the firmware inside the emunand's settings...
If I install emunand, will the emunand pick up as my original 3ds nand in terms of eShop content? So will my games I bought in the eShop on sysnand be redownloadable on the emunand? Thanks.
