Gaming PSP can't launch most games..

It's junk. Just return it if you can or throw it away if you can't.

Gaming PSP can't launch most games..

The easiest way would be to copy over enough files to fill the card near capacity, then hash them against the originals. If they don't match, it's either badly defective or a deliberate lie.

Yeah, one of mine is a fake and it works fine. This one must be different though because the Blackspeed is possibly the worst reported to date. It may also be claiming a false capacity.

To check for MagicGate, highlight your memory stick in Games (or any category, I believe), press triangle and select information. It should say MagicGate supported. From your description, it sounds like a bad counterfeit. I would definitely return it if possible.

Most fakes are MIJ Sony marked. If it's real, your PSP will tell you it supports MagicGate. Fake or not, it sounds like you have a bad card. I'd try copying the files from the MSPD back to your PC to see if they match the originals.

Gaming Micro SDHC w/ MSPRO DUO adapter as MagicMemstick?

I'm pretty sure this is a myth. The only use for MagicGate was Sony's shitty DRM.

Gaming How common are dead/stuck pixels?

I have one stuck in the upper left and it isn't really noticeable unless the screen is completely black. It almost looks like a speck of dust. The pixel I had on the DS was way more noticeable and irritated me to the point that I sent it back to NOA.

Gaming got a fake 8GB psp card, but...

The fake 8gb cards have better read speeds than the fake 4gb. I don't have the 8gb, but I can't say that my fake has caused me any problems.

    Gaming Fastest 8GB card...

Does anyone have experience with the 8GB Micro M2 cards available in the ~$50 range? I'm guessing they're counterfeit?

    Gaming Fastest 8GB card...

Have a look at this thread. The Sandisk 8GB tested great in the read test, which is the most important factor. The Lexar and Sony were roughly 2/3 the speed of the Sandisk which is probably adequate.

    Gaming GBATemp's Blackspeed Test Thread

I don't put a lot of stock in the PI number, but it is a reasonably good test platform. Here are my other two: EDIT: Raulpica, your card appears to perform above the norm with small blocks. Where'd you find that card?

    Gaming GBATemp's Blackspeed Test Thread

This is a fake from DX, but at least the capacity is genuine. I'll test a couple more when I get home.

    Gaming Memory card question

True, but the difference in read speed is negligible from the reports I posted, and the partial results from the DX discussion indicate a slower read than the previous report. I think it's reasonable to assume that counterfeit items might not fulfill the promises made by their markings...

    Gaming Memory card question

Take another look. Though it could be variance, the cheaper card tested faster. Here's another "high speed" report from DX: Read: 7.5 Write: 4 Performance Index: 271 With the price of genuine cards dropping, I'm not sure that even the less expensive one is a good buy.
