    I just installed Animal crossing .cia and started playing it. As far as I can tell, nothing updated and there were no hangups. Triforce heroes also seems to work with .cia. I am in gateway mode so I don't know if that matters or not.

    Unless the game needs 9.5 (which I am trying to figure out also) to play I don't think you even need to update but I could be wrong about that. If you plan to use a .3ds file you may need to inject a personal header. I believe .cia files don't need a header so they are fine. You will have to...

    Hardware I just bought a replacement top screen. Everything but the new screen works now.

    Thanks for the info. I might try my old screen tomorrow. It was playing games fine but the crack started to leak so I wanted it to look nice again.

    I actually meant on the screen. I figured if I broke it once I might again so I got a 2 year warranty on the top screen. it was $2 and I guess it worked out.
