I just came back from the event and I'm moderately happy about the Switch, I'll explain why I'm not more than that below.

The games they had on offer to play were:
- Mario Kart 8 Deluxe
- 1-2 Switch
- ARMS
- Zelda Breath of the Wild
- Splatoon 2
- Sonic Mania
- Ultra Street Fighter II
- FAST RMX (It's FAST Racing NEO for the Switch)
- Bomberman

Despite that they had a booth dedicated to Mario Odyssey it was nothing more than a huge TV replaying the same trailer and I got really excited over nothing as it was one of the games I wanted to play at the event.

So, in terms of queues most were pretty quick and I enjoyed the majority of games they had there, for the exception of 1-2 Switch which was a mixed-bag tech-demo compilation that just wasn't much fun -- well, the 'Guess How Many Balls' game was though that was about it.

Before I get to shitting on the Joy-Con, the Switch controllers all use digital triggers so GameCube games which use analogue triggers will have to be reprogrammed to use digital triggers. Now, what's so bad about the Joy-Con controllers? The D-PAD if you can call it that is absolutely terrible, tiny and uncomfortable, and so are the buttons and shoulder buttons / triggers so much so that I waited specifically to play Zelda with the Pro Controller which is absolutely a masterpiece of a controller!

To get into more depth about why the Joy-Cons suck so bad, the analogue stick is very stiff and hardly moves so you're left without the liberty of an actual proper controller's analogue sticks.

The Switch Pro Controller reminded me a lot of the Xbox One Controller and I am very pleased with it. I have nothing against it (okay, it's a bummer it doesn't have analogue triggers but not a deal-breaker), instead, I wish they'd bundle it with Switch consoles as it's the one to go controller to use with the Switch.

Onto the Switch Tablet's screen quality, the quality of the screen really puts the Wii U GamePad to shame as how outdated it looks. Colours, saturation, brightness and everything is very well balanced and lovely to look at. Playing Bomberman on the Switch Tablet is a bitch, because it looks so small. :P

The wait to play Breath of the Wild for only 15 mins was tedious and long but well worth it, it showed me what an amazing game is to come but there were framerate issues which I hope are fixed by the time the game's out. Heh, I didn't dress up my Link with clothes but rather had him on pants and nothing more.

ARMS whilst I wouldn't say it's worth the RRP value it is a great game to play with others or by yourself, but is it highly replayable for more than 5mins? Hmm.. no, well, if you have people locally to play with then it'll last on for hours.

Sonic Mania was awesome but know what kept me from enjoying the demo at its fullest? The god damn Joy-Con! I already explained but I'll say here why: The analogue stick being the stiffy bugger that it is didn't allow me to make the moves I wanted and to jump it sometimes wouldn't work as intended.

Splatoon 2 - Improves upon the original but playing it with the Switch Tablet or the Pro Controller just doesn't feel right although it's something that gamers will eventually get used to. This instance, the Wii U GamePad did it better.

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe much like the original Mario Kart 8 but with more content, 2 items, proper battle stages and so on. I won the race against the rest that were there without a problem, honestly, I didn't expect that from Nintendo fans. No challenge.

Lastly, Ultra Street Fighter II. :rofl2: I chuckled when I read "Violent Ken" as an actual character and then one of the employees at the event called him "Angry Ken" lool. What about "Pregnant Chun-Li"? :rofl2: The game in itself is the same as everyone knows but now with a bit more content and with HDish visuals.

That about wraps up. Knowing this now, I gotta see about pre-ordering the Pro Controller because the Joy-Cons are a big piece of crap! Makes me wish the Wiimote + Nunchuk were compatible.

By the way, they gave us a Switch Badge, Neck Switch Strap and free food. Unfortunately I didn't get to eat a free burger (drank coffee and milk though) since I arrived too late there but I went for the games anyway.

You're the first one I've heard of that dislikes the Joy-Cons (except for the d pad)
I had high hopes for the Joy-Cons and the images make it look like they're great but actually, when you get to use them, you'll feel different about it if you're used to analogue sticks moving as much as possible than as limited as possible.

I did like one thing about the Joy-Cons, when playing the 1-2 Switch "Guess the Balls" game you can tell how many balls there are as you feel them.
