I have a nand dump from an old system that no longer works at all. How can I extract the movable & LFS from the nand? Possible or impossible?

Decrypt it with D9, then download the 3DSFAT16Tool by d0k3 to extract the files. Well, you actually mount them into a virtual drive to open them but same thing. :D

from what I understand, it will only generate a new value when you do system transfer as youre using the old value to the destination 3ds. once you do system transfer you have to reformat right? then thats when it generates a new one since the old is going to be transferred.

so maybe thats what the twitter guy does. transfer extract copy repeat.

just speculation
Well, no, it appears that doing a regular system format from system settings should also update keyY high u64, according to the 3dbrew page for movable.sed

Thank you! Once I get my nand back onto my 3ds as it should be, I'll do this.

Hopefully I can transfer all that stuff and get back online. It was a final ditch effort. Hell, I totally forgot about those nand backups until I went looking for my current 3ds's backups haha, lucky break I guess.

i may have misunderstood it. i thought it goes like Initiate SysTans > dump movable > transfer > System Restore > overwrites movable u64 > System Restored

You need to use Godmode9 to delete an NNID from your system, not just to unlink it. If you use that you can really screw up your system so don't get curious about all the "options" if you use it.
