Sorry if this has been asked before but, I have been noticing a variety of posts explaining to try different file extensions for Homebrew (.cia, .3dsx, .3ds). Is there a notable difference in the different file extensions?

(When installing home-brew) I have just been moving the entire folder containing the Homebrew into the "3ds" folder on my 3ds SD Card which contains all the various file extensions within that folder, am I supposed to be choosing just one extension?
.3ds is for flashcards
.cia is for people on emunand with cfw
.3dsx is for people using the homebrew launcher, drag the folder containing both the .3dsx and and .smdh to the /3ds folder on the root of your card. any additional files probably go on the root

gpSP is crashing on me with an error, stating it can't push NULL or empty data to the playlist when I try to load The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap. I'll try redumping it tomorrow, after I get some sleep. I'm just curious if there's anything else that could cause that. I'm using the Dec. 25th CIA build installed with FBI.

Did you use the bios?

Yeah, dumped it myself from my micro and it passed the md5 checksum. The other games I've tried work fine, though Minish Cap is the largest one out of the bunch. The Minish Cap dump is fine, I just checked the md5 checksum of it and it matches databases online. CitrAGB also crashed with it. Maybe I should try installing it with something other than FBI.

Also, I got the DSP firmware set up, though the DSP audio driver has a lot of popping and is choppy. Is that normal or did I screw something up?

I'm currently using the latest build on my N3DS 9.2 CFW and I don't have any of the problems you've described.
Awesome. :D
But I am figuring that individual results may vary, so will try and see. On the Latest GW so maybe it will work correctly this time.

Edit: Scratch that. grabbed the 2016-01-03 1424Hrs Build CIAs, Updated them, and tried a few. Still having the same Issue. Frame Counter goes up, and cant do ANYTHING

I'm not sure what you are doing differently but I am running minish cap perfectly on gpsp latest nightly.

Except I'm not running a .cia I'm running the .3dsx

Is there an md5 checklist I can view that lists the most compatible md5 Bios and roms? I'd like to check and see if the md5 I have match up with what I should be using.

Not sure if anyone else has experienced this, but has anyone tried booting PCSX ReArmed on Old3ds with the recent nightlies? I'm asking because every time I try starting it up from the home menu, it (keeping in mind I have menuhax installed) goes to menuhax and tries to boot RXTools, or if I hold any button, due to the way I have menuhax installed, the emulator never starts up. It just boots out of the application and gives me that "An error has occurred" on the home menu. As in, it's not on the black screen when it shows this. Does anyone know how to solve this? I already tried searching the thread, and nothing came up for me.

I decided to dump the BIOS from my original GBA and see if there's any difference. Still the same problem. If it was just happening with RetroArch's gpSP, then I'd just wait for a stable release, but it also happens with CitrAGB, so I imagine I'm doing something wrong.

I am also getting the same error on my end:
RetroArch [INFO] :: null: [sdmc:/retroarch/content_history lpl].
RetroArch
:: cannot push NULL or empty core info into the playlist.

Along with another issue that isn't so much an error but an alert that I have noticed as well:
RetroArch [INFO] :: Environ SAVE_DIRECTORY: "ssmc:/retroarch/cores/savefiles".
config_path is : sdmc:/Roms/gba/game_config.txt
game config missing

Despite having those two messages come up on my bottom screen, I am still able to boot gpSP v0.91 and play Minish Cap as well on my setup..
It may possibly be something on your end though because I am not booting the .cia I am booting the .3dsx since I am booting through Homebrew.
Check your BIOS I did an internet search for GBA Bios and came across one on the internet. It may possibly be the BIOS and/or Rom.

update:
Check the ROM because if other GBA Roms are running fine with your current BIOS. It may have possibly been a bad dump or the ROM itself may be corrupt somehow.

Still dont understand why I keep getting that issue with the latest Build. Open up a CIA Core, get the RA Main Menu and cant do anything. Can just watch the Frame Counter go up and hit the Home Button to Exit.

Does anyone have a CIA build of gpsp from November 23? For me, the latest version still has that flickering problem, and @ihaveamac only gave a link to the 3dsx version.

I have read most of this thread! I got the emulators i wanted all working for the exeption on the ps1 emu and neo geo.

I should mention I am on the latest firmware 10.3.0-28 with homebrew through ironfall.

For PS1 it just doesn't get over 17fps. i turned off vsync and audiosync i tried bios inside system folder in retroarch

for neogeo i cannot load any rom i keep getting 4096 error i have tried roms from several places i tried roms and neogeo.zip inside emu folder, any help would be greatly appreciated.

So i got the cias installed but no it has a no core error even though i have my folders setup right, this is one of the latest errors right?
I think that was fixed in some recent revision. Did you download a build from the bottom of the page, or did you take one from December?
