I have no idea what that is meant to mean, .....you need to use Sdf to switch the header and keep the save.......several guides explaining the process, sky3ds users are sol if they want to change headers they have to start over

Can they not backup their saves and reload it if they change their headers?

No,saves are tied to the header, only way to change what header the save is tied to is to extract the save with SDF, then reimport it to the game with a new header Using SDF

No I'm talking about Sky I know that how it works with GW but I'm not sure how changing the header will affect Sky saves.

Saves and headers aren't something that only exists for GW users. It's simply how it works. Sky3DS users experience it too even if they can't do as much about it as GW users.

Probably didn't change the header properly, if you change the cart header the save will be considered corrupt, to change the header on sky3ds you need to modify the template file, remove the rom from the SD card and then reload it onto the sd card

That's the way the 3ds works, it's not some unique to sky3ds/gateway feature, so unless sky3ds logs the header that was used to make the save and just always uses the matching header (which would still mean your using a public header) I think you must of just done it wrong

That's how I edit my headers; and I've had no issues.

Maybe I don't understand the header business, but people saying you gotta use a retail cart header because online dumps are using the same one everywhere.

1) Doesn't it look odd that a game heard from game A is being used to play/go online with a game header from game b?
2) If you take a retail cart game header of your own and it use it for all your online games, isn't Nintendo going to see the header being used multiple times and ban it as well?

I don't see how anything beyond using 1 unique header per game you play online going to avoid a ban, especially a mismatching game.

EDIT: GW users are affected too right?

1. We don't know if Nintendo can detect this yet. So far it seems that Nintendo is banning people who are using public headers.
2. We don't know for sure. I'm thinking as long as the same header is NOT being used by different people you will be safe.

Yes GW users can affected if they use the same PUBLIC header for all their games. Like Sky we are waiting for confirmation that someone has been banned using their own private header.

the problem as we said a lot of times, is we dont certainly knows how nintendo is banning....private headers are more secure because you have the only copy of your online header .....and private headers werent be banned

so we can use the same private header because only 1 header copy will be on net at the same time

but im agreed u, someday, nintendo could change this and say.....this card ID is for nintendogs on monster hunter!!!! and give us another ban wave

greetings

Yes but it's not like its unique to EACH copy of that game like a header is.

Have you checked it or someone said that? I think it can't be because Nintendo is asking for the back image of the card and the user can provide image of that card from image by searching from Google or whatsoever. Frankly saying, it is not possible, every game will have different code or something which make them differ from another cart of the same game.

Well I've checked all the games I own and they all have different headers however you are right...there are so many combos and

Because if it wasn't then how could Nintendo ban based on header? Unless they know which headers goes with which games. They could have a database for that but unlikely because until recently you could use any header...even headers from games with no online and it would work fine.

I have two of the same carts (same game and region) front will prove your region back numbers are different to one another so this will link the header to the game and the console I.D using it. If Nintendo want they can ban people from using the same header with different games if a personal header. Maybe the threshold is a set amount, maybe risky to use your own private header with too many games or is the threshold how many console ids use a particular cart serial number?

It does sound strange, but people using this method, myself included have not been banned, and people using online headers have been banned, so you can argue the logic of it, but the fact remains, personalized headers don't get banned.
Whether Nintendo can detect mismatched headers is something that no one knows, or will ever know since Nintendo won't disclose, so you might as well stick with something thats proven to work.

As for Nintendo banning private headers, one game can only go online at one time. So as far as Nintendo is concerned no matter how many games you use with your private header, you will only ever be online with the header once at a time, so it becomes much harder to flag.

I think it can't be because Nintendo is asking for the back image of the card and the user can provide image of that card from image by searching from Google or whatsoever.

This is Nintendo's method of weeding out false positives. If someone dumps a header and makes it public then sells the cartridge, then of all the the people that are being banned, there will be one person who is a false positive. This person should own the original cartridge that the flagged header belongs to and should be able to provide Nintendo a image of the cartidge ID that the flagged header belongs to to. In this case, this one person will be removed from the ban list.

I am using SDF.cia for the whole process. and i also follow multiple guides

Fantasy Life .3ds/.cia was played within emuNANd ver 9.5

Anything else should i try as i really dont want to loose weeks of progress
