Kid Icarus Uprising is finally playable without the touch screen

It's finally happened. Though releasing in 2012 to some really positive reception, Kid Icarus Uprising has always been an awkward game. Relying heavily on stylus-based aiming, it's proved problematic to emulate, and even for some to play on traditional hardware. Supporting both official hardware and emulators, @Darkshade's new patches aim to give people an entirely new way to experience this great title.

These patches add support for both C-Stick aiming and gyro controls, with the gyro aiming in particular reportedly inspired by the bow and arrow controls of Ocarina of Time 3D. An extensive assortment of screenshots and videos can be found in their original post linked below. Alongside the control patches, Darkshade also includes additional 16:9 and 21:9 wide screen options for those choosing to emulate.

Note for those interested the Darkshade makes the following comment on the usage of AI in the creation of these patches:

AI Usage said:
The reverse engineering efforts involved in creating this patch were AI-assisted, but all design decisions, feature implementations and graphics were made with very deliberate intent.
