Important news.

This is CatmanFan, and I just want to reveal some brand new details about my Wii VC WAD creator.
I did mention in my last blog entry that the final version of my application would be different from the screenshots shown. And to be honest, it is completely different. In fact, I have reset development by switching from Visual C# back to batch.

I have also finally decided on a useful name for the application: WiiInjectify. This name was inspired by MyMenuify, a Wii homebrew application for installing custom themes. The original variation for this name was MyInjectify, but I didn't want to be a copycat and I didn't want people confused over the name either, so I changed the "My" part to Wii. Still a little bit confusing, but it's a better decision.

In just a few days or so, I completed the code for my Wii VC WAD creator. In a nutshell, it first injects the ROM into the WAD, then generates custom banner, icon and save icon files. Then it extracts the banner and icon and edits them before it injects the save icon and data and packs the WAD. Please be aware of some bugs, which I will fix in an upcoming beta 1 release.

A download link for WiiInjectify, the world's first public full Wii VC WAD creator, is available down below. It does not include the Wii common key nor any WAD files. It is recommended to read the Readme text file first before trying out the application. Users are free to beta-test it and point out errors and bugs. People can even make some small changes to the batch as long as they know what they're doing and don't screw it all up. Betatesters will be credited in the Readme for the final release. A GBAtemp thread for WiiInjectify will also be available soon, but only when necessary.

I hope you are interested in this news, and I hope that the Wii VC WAD injecting scene gains some interest again.
