Black icon Mii Plaza + Streetpass isn't working properly

Ok so... I got a problem :C
When I got my 3ds, mii plaza streetpass was literally a nameless black icon, and it seems streetpass isn't working for it (despite for other games like mk7 or mario maker works perfectly)
I DO can get people in my plaza by playing online with them (ex: mk7 online races), but I can't get people by streetpass :c

... And I don't know if this may help but... some games (like fire emblem saga) BARELY got streetpass data
Also I'm currently using Netpass , but this issue existed even before I installed Netpass

Maybe Mii Plaza is corrupted? or something is wrong with my streetpass?
Can someone help me? :C

Have you tried to reinstall the system app for the Plaza? (Or at least delete the Plaza additional data's?

Use hShop to reinstall it. I'm not going to link it just in case it's against the rules, but search for 3DS hshop and it'll come up. Install hshop onto your 3DS and download the Streetpass Plaza, the updates and the DLC in one fell swoop. Hopefully that'll fix your issue.

You don't have to install hshop if you don't want too, you can use the same website to find the files and install them via FBI.

Edit: You should also check your SD card for problems too. That may be part of the cause of your black icon. Unlikely, but might as well cover all bases.

Huh, yeh, sorry, I didn't realise they wouldn't have the full set of files. Possibly because it's not a downloadable title.

Ok, according to this reddit thread if you do a system update it'll reinstall any missing system titles. I haven't tested this, so I'd do a nand backup first through godmode9, then use FBI to delete the Plaza and ticket, then update your 3DS, even if it is already at the latest firmware. Apparently that will reinstall the Plaza. If it doesn't, you can restore your previous nand back up.

The above also matches what was said in a thread on GBATemp too.

a- sounds like recovery data? ok so I should backup it first

I had to delete old mii plaza app and ticket, and then install a new .cia

I didn't have to do any system update :0

Did you just search for the cia or use 3DNUS ? As we've discussed, it's not on hshop. I'm just curious for my own knowledge. I know in a few months / years time someone will ask.

I actually found an easier (and more legitimate way) of doing it.

Using the 3DNUS downloader from this GBATemp thread, which if you head to the Github page and download the binary archive, extract it anywhere (desktop is fine) and run it.

You'll need Title ID: 0004001000021800 (US Streetpass Plaza)
Version: 5136 (That can be taken from this 3dbrew wiki page.)
Pack as .CIA: Please tick

Click Download. Give it a minute and you'll have your CIA file.
Personally, I'd do it again, and reinstall this version, or at least check the version you downloaded against the one you create from Nintendo's Update Servers. You don't want a file installed that may have malicious code in it.

I already did it and the CRC I got is:
CRC32: 6C4E7B5F

If you want to check it against the file you downloaded. If it's the same, then it's all good.
