Trying to relocate to Malta during the pandemic, what a disaster

I thought this year will end with a victory. I got a job offer to work in Malta with a salary twice the locals and basically will have the expats life that I have been wanting all my life. After I got my work permit approval issued last month in 3 days, everything was nothing but a disaster:

1. I haven't received any instructions on how to apply visa. You see, during this pandemic, only people with special authorization can apply a long stay visa to visit Malta if you are coming from dark red countries. The process took a month or so, I only got an instruction from my employer last week.
2. because of the slow process by Malta's visa authorities, I lost my opportunity to enter Malta hassles-free. Previously all I need was to show a negative PCR result in the last 72 hours, now, things have changed as delta variant exploded in my country
3. Malta just banned unvaccinated travelers from entering the country. To add an insult to the injury, they only recognized EU approved vaccines and EU online vaccine certificate. I got sinovac and I got my vaccine from a country whose online certificate system is not recognized by Malta. In contrast, the Netherlands recognizes them.
4. There's currently a lockdown in my country, and I am not sure when to apply my visa at this rate.

If I couldn't get my visa till 27th November, I will just ditch Malta and will resume applying jobs in Germany. I already regret my decision to choose Malta. Had I known the bureaucracy is this inefficient, I would have not accepted that offer since I probably could crack another offer soon, with my skillsets.

I already cried a few weeks ago, to accept a possibility that I may not be able to move to Malta and I need to stay in my homophobic country longer. Now I feel better, and going to prepare myself for the next job hunting season. At least I still have my job as a BI Engineer at my current company, and it's the most relaxing job I ever have.

Aw man.. I'm so sorry.
Try looking in Germany, Swtizerland (can sometimes be easier since they aren't EU) and Austria.
Heck even France, The UK and the Nordics might be something for you.

That's a shame, sorry to hear about your troubles.
I was honestly wondering how you were doing a few days ago. Hopefully it all works out!
