Well, recently my 3ds's top screen stopped working. When I turn the system on, with or withou a sd card, it stays pitch black. Only the backlight works, and it even responds to the 3d slider. The touch screen, however, is still working perfectly. I have since tried replacing the top screen, but it didn't work. The problem stays the same. I tried to see if someone else had the same problem, but all I could find was a "black screen of death" - that's not what's happening for me. So, please, if anyone has a clue, I'd appreciate it very much! I really don't want to have to buy another system because where I live a 3ds is really expensive (even used ones!) and because I grew up with this 3ds, but if it really is the end for it, then so be it. Again, thanks in advance.

Oh, I have attached an image for further clarification.

P.s. I have modded my 3ds via bs9bootstrap, but the screen stopped working long after I had done it. I also tried CTRTransfer (someone had reccomended it in another 3ds-screen-not-working thread here) but nothing changed.

A surge protector is a device that protects your electronics from fluctuations. I recommend having your console plugged into one of those
  • MysticStarlight @ MysticStarlight:
An UPS is even better because it has an internal battery that keeps your system on even if the power goes out, but it's much more expensive obviously

@MysticStarlight, oh i recall seeing one in some in the houses of some relatives, including my dad's apartment

On the series s/x you can use a external HD but any next gen games must be on your internal ssd, or you can buy a ssd expansion card, but pricey. Any xbone, 360, or og Xbox games can be played from external tho.

I've been playing Killer Clowns from Outer Space all day, is pretty fun. Basically Friday 13th but with clowns. One of my favorite b rated movies from way back.
