The Kingdom Hearts games are coming to Steam

After a little more than three years of exclusivity with the Epic Games Store, Square Enix has decided to bring their beloved Kingdom Hearts franchise to Steam. The whole saga headed to Steam includes Kingdom Hearts 1.5 + 2.5 HD ReMix, Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue, Kingdom Hearts III and its Re Mind DLC, with the full collection packed together under the Kingdom Hearts Integrum Masterpiece label. They'll all be releasing the same day, on June 13th.

Looks like SE stay true to their words to release big titles to multiple platforms, just took years for them to release KH games on Steam. Now I just hope for their future games to not get "westernized" for non-existent modern audience.

Who cares. They were already available on PC regardless of where they could be purchased. This "OMGZ EPIC STORE BAD!!!!!!" stuff is stupid. Do all of you buy your groceries, music, movies, clothing, gadgets, etc, etc all at the same exact store every, single, time? All of your other shoping all at one place? No? Didn't think so.

Though having only one platform with all your games and not having to multiply apps on your computer sounds convenient.

Real talk, why the effing holdup? Why wait this long?
Could be tied to getting them Steam Deck-certified for the release date. Good selling point for the launch, wouldn't be? 🤔

No, we don't do the groceries at the same store every time, we just avoid the shitty ones.

YAAAAAY i can play it without dealing with egs! hopefully the discounts on it are as good as the ps4 sales soon, $40 is a steal for a decade of games.

Well steam has gift vouchers and if this release has cloud saves and ootb steam deck support without any faffing about, that immediately makes the steam version superior IMO.

Imagine two stores. One is easily reachable via car, but the other one doesn't let you park anywhere, because of the car you're using, so you have to stop somewhere, cover your car in wine, which makes makes you able to park at that store. Now you can finally buy things at that store, which could turn out to not even be transportable by your car, whereas the first store properly marks things that may be difficult or impossible to transport with your car and sometimes even provides help for those cases, so you can get the thing you paid for without having to manually cover your car in wine.

The first store is Steam, the second one is Epic Games Store, the car, in this case, is a computer running Linux as an operating system and wine is a compatibility layer that can help you get some Windows programs to run on Linux.
If you're using a Steam Deck, Steam becomes even more easy to use than anything else on that device.
