Homebrew Failed to initialize Internet on wiiflow

Hi I recently homebrewed my Wii, I enabled wiimmfi and connected my console to the Internet in system settings. However when I try to download covers from wiiflow I get "failed to initialize" error. I also noticed when I'm in the homebrew menu the network symbol flashes a few times and then disappears.

I don't know if sntp is also required to make the network work, I downloaded it from the wiihackguide and when I try to run it it fails after a few seconds with "error -24"

Any help is appreciated I can't find any solutions to this online.

My network is WPA2, I'm on a original Wii system v4.3 all my hacks came straight from the wiihackguide so I assume they are up to date.
