Am I the only one who isn't surprised? Consoles have been moving towards online play for years now. Looking at the slew of online FPSs over multiple consoles, a fully fledged MMO can't be too far behind. There are a great many MMOs I can see being ported to the Wii U due to the controller versatility. I actually can't wait for a good MMO RPG to come out for a console. I think it may even be a seamless transition too. If the console in question already has established payment methods, then the game could run on Micro Transactions. Making the need for subscriptions moot. Ah well, I guess I'm the only excited one. Anyway, having a MMO capable console means a specially tailored experience. No pesky computer requirements to worry over. Especially since a dedicated console can put out much more game related processing power than a desktop computer since they aren't weighted down with clunky OSes. Not to mention the fact that Consoles are considerably cheaper than gaming rigs.
At the mention of a Pokemon RPG... Why not? Pokemon already has well defined areas and characters. Even the already sound gaming formula only needs a bit of tweaking to adapt it to a MMO environment. If it doesn't interest you, then you wouldn't have to play it.
