First BD-J + Kernel access exploit provided by Sleirsgoevy (29/9/22)

Note: Though there are three USERLAND exploits and one KERNEL exploit, there are no public HYPERVISOR exploits available to complete the exploit chain, so there is no chance of HEN, and therefore no PS4/PS5 backup loading yet.

(Note: a hypervisor exploit is rumoured to be held in private that works on <2.50 firmware).

NOTE 2: Always stay on the lowest FW possible, if you are on 3.00-4.03 etc, don’t be tempted to update to 4.51 yet, stay as low as possible for now.

If you get stuck in a boot loop at the PS logo, this means the SNVS is corrupted (if hash check fails on boot this causes a “soft brick”).

DONT WORRY it’s not “bricked”, just reinstall your current firmwares RECOVERY PUP in safe mode!

I hope that the ps5 scene is homebrew only, because free games and a naive scene is a recipe for disaster. It happened with both the ps3 and the ps4 scenes. A small group of people like to take advantage of the situation, and I figure the same segment will pollute the ps5 scene like they did the other two. I could name names, but if you're stupid enough to fall for it, there's really nothing I can say or do to change your beliefs.

Afaik the exploit is just a boot disc, as it were.

You could potentially burn the sploit to a disc with a game on it too, but why would you. Once you can install pkgs you’ll just use usb.. and no games load from discs without installing anyway…

oh yeah, I didn't think about that. I install all my ps4 games, but ps5 games, without an expensive m2 ssd, I could install maybe 8 games, and they can't be played via usb either. :-/

Yeah PS5 games require internal NVME storage to play. But, conversely, you can use dirt cheap storage internally and it loads just fine, no need to go crazy expensive on that front

well, I can tell you that's hard to care about these people, who don't donate to buying these games, to devs, or even their time. I'd hate the idea of dying yet no one would even notice. that's how I see the vast majority of useless ingrates in these scenes, especially the playstation ones. I mean if you can put a console in the closet for several years, you can donate $5 to someone who in some cases is saving you thousands.

I've been involved in the playstation scenes mostly, and I've gotta say, it's just sickening that most people don't seem to care. I see so many people making excuses why they can't donate anything, and it's bull shit. I get $560/month, and I've donated over $100 to devs. I remember a content site where people had to donate in order to gain access to content, when they couldn't get access for donating a $1, they asked for the $1 back, so it's not surprising so many devs have quit.

it's not so much that people do what they do, but they question the integrity of people who actually care, such as myself. you know that if thefl0w had really quit after Gregory Rasputin's remarks, there would be no ps5 exploits. yet people still defend this asshole.
