Need help with Gran Turismo 7's Neoclassical Challenge's Willow Springs International

I did the other two Neoclassical races without issues, but this one is just impossible. I just can't get higher than 6th place on Easy mode. What am I doing wrong?

I'm using the Audi Sport quattro S1 Pikes Peak ‘87. Am I supposed to use something else?
