Minecraft v1.18.12

Is there anyone out there playing the newest version of Minecraft Bedrock on CFW? I updated my son to v1.18.12 and he could not change his skins. For that matter, it even deleted his characters after applying the update. When trying to change your skin or create a new character, it just keeps attempting to connect to the Minecraft Marketplace, it appears this can no longer be done locally. Once it fails to connect online, it creates a new female character by default. Being an 8 year old boy, he is distraught at the idea of playing as a girl lol. Plus he wants to use his Mario skins. To top things off worse, we loaded one of his worlds to test out, and when he saved and quit, it updated the save file to the newest version of Minecraft. So now that I downgraded him back to v1.17.0, he lost his world because it says it was saved with a newer version of Minecraft. 1.17.0 works great, fully functional and does not try connecting online. But I really want to know how others are doing it out there. There are tons of comments on certain XCI sites of people saying thank you and works great, so I don't understand how this new skin issue hasn't been reported yet. I tried asking over there but no one will respond. Can one of you experts please enlighten me? lol

I faced the same problem and then decided to buy it and play on ofw. At the latest when he turns 10 he wants to play with friends and that's not possible under cfw. If you have an erista switch, you can install Android and install Minecraft there. hacked or original for 10€ is up to you.

I installed Android on my Switch and installed it via the Play Store.

Thank you for your responses. My son already has the regular version of Minecraft on his laptop. He knows the Switch version on CFW will always be offline, but he likes to play it due to the unique Mario content. He's a big Mario fan, and an even bigger Luigi fan lol. So I really just want to find out how others are playing the newest version on CFW. I have read quite a few comments and no one mentioned not being able to play v.18.12. They all just say thank you or works great. It does not work great and I wish I could get a hold of those guys who claim it is. That's why I thought maybe there was some type of workaround, or maybe someone released a patch that blocks all internet requests during gameplay. Surely that is possible right? Seeing as people are creating their own cheats by scavenging through the game code.

That's why I don't like to play on new versions of minecraft because with the release of a new patch, new bugs appear that can lead to the loss of saves and skins. I mostly try to find a server that uses an older version of the game when I play Minecraft. And by the way, it's getting harder and harder to find such servers now. Still, I'm lucky that some minecraft prison servers also play on older versions of the game, which will cause me many problems. there will certainly be a way to extract the Mario resource pack from the switch version.
Does anyone have experience with this?
