Eating these animals, do you accept?

Even though I've never eaten anything on that list, I don't think eating any of those are wrong. Imo anyone who thinks so is very ethnocentric. As long as the animals are treated well while they live, there is no moral issue eating any non-primate imo (primates are too close to our species so its borderline cannibalism (although there are people who does eat primates... and people...)

This is why I said I'm opposed to eating meat. You spend time with dogs. Get to know them. You love them. The thought of eating man's best friend is repulsive to many people. But the fact it, if you got to know seals and kept them as pets, you'd oppose the seal hunt with a passion.

its a lot like liver as in kind of a dry meat if you get what i mean , but not a lot different to beef tbh , and yes the reindeer was much better

I thinks its morally okay to eat any type of meat (well except human). I personally wouldn't eat those meats well first the opportunity will probably never come and I think they would probably taste gross. Although I would think it would be morally wrong to eat a dog if he was you pet. I would hope it would never have to come to that. lol

I hope that wasn't directed at me. It sure sounded like it, because that's exactly what I just said, if a little more negative.

Well let's not call other people's opinions stupid.
Don't try to convince other people to agree with you, because they very probably won't.
We can still make counter-arguments without insulting anyone or their arguments.


I think one of the reasons "exotic meats" (e.g. alligator like mentioned above) taste not good is because not many people know how to handle them properly.


And if the sound of eating dog meat makes you shiver because you have a pet dog, that's perfectly understandable.

But the same can be said for other animals that are "common" in many cultures like cows, pigs, and chickens (but not only limited to).
People not walking their pet cows in the middle of New York doesn't mean there are no pet cows.
People don't go to horse races to scout for a meat dish either. (Try yelling "damn those horses look delicious" in horse racing venues and see if people look at you funny, or furiously.)

This high level of subjectivity makes it near impossible for people to convince others to change their minds.

Just out of curiosity, even though you're vegetarian does people eating a certain type of meat offend you more than "common meats" in your culture?

Because I saw this guy on youtube who's vegetarian and opposes seal hunt, but feeds his cat with meat products to the point the cat got too fat to continue eating meat. I guess he must be on the most hypocritic side of vegetarians =P

No, meat is meat, there are not "common meats" and "special meats" for me. I am not offended, I just think people should not eat them.

I still am a "vegetarian wannabe", actually. I am trying to stop eating meat and I think I will have to learn to cook to stop completely, because my family always cooks prepare dishes with meat and because I don't want to try to convert them to vegetarianism (it is their decision to eat meat, it must be their decision to stop).

About vegetarianism and pets, in my opinion, vegetarian persons who own carnivore pets (cats, dogs) should not feed their pets with vegetarian food, because they (pets) need to eat meat and they can not choose not to eat (humans can). In my opinion, we (humans) should not eat meat, because we don't need.

One of my favorite foods is ratatouille (even though I am Japanese descendant, born in Brazil). My favorite food is fruit salad, I love it.

Foie Gras - taste nasty to me, but I'm not morally opposed.

Dog - no chance.

A lot of people have a problem with veal. My only problem is you can't get anything but that tough pink veal that never gets tender. I'd just as soon eat pork scallopini for my money.

Oh, and ask me anything about having eaten fried bull testicle. I couldn't eat much, but I did it.

Fried bull testicle huh. I heard of eating camel testicles in desert areas (not sure how it's prepared) though.


I put "common meats" in quotes because I think the term is too subjective based on personal beliefs, culture, etc.

I think nature has decided that it'll let humans decide what they want to eat by making us omnivores. (or evolved, created, whatever to suit your belief)

I frequently eat vegetarian dishes and don't mind going to vegetarian restaurant if someone in my group is vegetarian. As long as the food tastes good, I don't care if it's tofu, beef, or seal.

P.S. I eat salads without dressing. Anyone else?
