    I cannot stress how much of an emotional gut punch chapter 5 and 6 of Xenoblade 3 are.

    Gut punch, yes, but...the cutscenes are really long too, so they start dragging on a bit. Sure, there's a smidgeon of gameplay mixed in, but it's literally just walking Noah to the next cutscene trigger in a rather bland corridor.
    Emotional for sure, but just a tad too long for my tastes.

    So either all of my aux cables are really shitty or my laptops microphone port is fucked (yes im using it to capture audio, I do need help)

    Depends.
    If it's not properly insulated, of course it's going to have interference.

    Also, the quality of the cable itself is more important than the AUX input.

    There's also the possibility that your MIC might be plain bad and it's not neither your cable or your AUX input

    you can get a kind of cable that's 3.5mm male to 3.5mm female that you plug another aux into to reduce interference iirc, at least, if static is coming through

    That's only used for ground isolation when speakers/amps are connected to a different circuit than the device it's connected to, it won't do anything if there is only one wall powered device in the loop AFAIK.

    Alright my brain has gone from a overclocked switch to a stock switch. Lets hope it doesn't just snap back to being a powerPC core when I finally decide yeah I want to try to program.
