Wiimmfi doesn't require you to change your DNS.
this thread is not for AltWFC.

but you can change how you setup your network like this:

mask (subnet), can be 255.255.255.0 if you only change the last part of the IP : 10.0.0.x
on one of your computers with internet access, go to your network setting and set internet sharing for your internet connexion, this will allow you Wii to use the computer instead of the router as gateway to get out of your LAN.
Set that computer's connection to a fixed IP : 10.0.0.135 (or whatever number you like), subnet 255.255.255.0, DNS 10.0.0.138 (I guess 138 is your router's IP? or a private OpenDNS server?), DNS2 (202.136.43.75)

On your Wii :
IP : 10.0.0.136 (another fixed IP, unused in your network)
mask: 255.255.255.0
gateway: 10.0.0.135 (your computer's IP sharing his network with other users on the LAN)
DNS : now you can set the DNS you want here. Don't put the router's IP as DNS.

It's probably possible if he could search all https string and replace them with Ocarina, but I don't know if it works like that.
I don't know how he created the cheatcode not what's possible to do with it. maybe he didn't patch URLs in the dol but patched the network function instead?

Hi Cyan, I just came up with the Ocarina Patch Fix94 made... it seems its a NOSSL patch as you mentioned... anyway here is the code it case it might be useful (wii-nossl-ocarina.txt):

Oh... for some reason, I thought the DNS needed changing! :D

Anyway, I found the problem: it was my ethernet switch! (For some odd reason a direct-to-modem connection works fine)

EDIT: Also, who wants to play brawl? :D I'm on! :)

Does auto-match (aka. Basic brawl) work? it takes so long to find players... :wtf:

EDIT: ERROR CODE 81010: Me dropped out... :D

EDIT2: Did the server just go down? now it's saying 20100!

Now I find that the room disconnects after a while: it will say 81010 after a minute of waiting for players!

Maybe the server's acting up? :|

SERIOUSLY?!

My connection will NOT stop dropping out! Everytime i try to wait for opponents, I get "network disconnected during data transmission!"

And I still have no working brawl! :'( HELP!!!!

EDIT: BTW, ping is 42ms

I normally wouldn't ask this but is their a tutorial or something to help me along :grog:
I didn't use the patcher (downloads) I used the USB Loader GX private server (wiimfi) while it connected it wouldn't find anyone. Not sure if I'm doing something wrong or what. Should I use the patchers in the links?

Edit: Patcher seems to make it work. Loader Patcher at least for me was useless. So if anyone finds this and does the same just use the Patcher.
Edit 2: Patched SSBB and it either dies trying to connect to Wiimmfi or does connect but can't connect to anyone via Worldwide, not friends.

I did get into a match of Mario Kart Wii and that was awesome.

Edit 3: Not really sure where to post this but on my third match I ran into this. The guy using Japanese characters (kana) is the cheater. Not really sure if they can get banned or not but it's worth posting.

I could connect to Mario Kart using only USBLoaderGX patch option.
It doesn't patch the match making algorithm, so it might take a while to find opponent based on number of users online.
The match making patch included in the "standalone patcher" disable region and player's level restriction. you can match good players even if you just start playing.

For clearness:

My MKW patcher disable player's level restriction, but not regions restriction. It also change some game texts.

Both of my patchers also modify file/rel/staticr.rel, if available; the USB loaders do not. For MKWii some ghost exchange code and gamestats code are placed in staticr.rel. There are some rumors that some games don't work without staticr.rel patching.

Well that makes sense. However I did let it go for 20 minutes at one point before I used the patcher and still didn't get a match. At least for me I'd recommend anyone to use it unless you don't want to mess with the patcher.

Is there a special patch for SSBB? I even patched it and it wouldn't work. But then again there was only 32 or 40 people online.
I can try again later.

Good news is the patcher for Mario Kart Wii works great  and the best part? It didn't seem like there was any latency issues either.

I played SSBB only for testing the servers. I have never connection problems (only tried the game about 5-8 times). But I heard, that SSBB had always connection problems, even with Nintendo WFC. And at that point of the video, the matchmaking is over and the pear to pear communication have started (think so).

Ahh see I never even got to try out WFC. Assuming it never worked even soft modded.
Well, thanks for the answer man.

Edit: How do you report players who cheat? I'm actually very amazed people are willing to cheat in a 10+ year old system on a fan made server. This literally boggles my mind.

Well... I finally got on with Mario Kart (had to use a new profile, as my old one wasn't finished yet... :D)

So here's my experience:

First match: INSTANT CHEATERS!!!

Well, I do admit, the starting line thunder bolt's pretty funny! :) (I didn't do it though... ;)) And the funny part was, HALF THE CONTESTANTS vanished on the third lap, so the majority must have had cheats on!

Then after that... Mario Kart Wii, while searchign for players would fail with Error code 84020 (or 82040, I forgot which... :D) and would not work from then on.

With SSBB, I didn't get a single battle in basic brawl! :(

You can get into a SSBB battle but it's incredibly rare. I was in a match for 29 seconds before it ended due to disconnect. However yes, MKW has tons of cheaters. I honestly can't believe it.

I got a PM from airline38 he was very kind and shared a working Wiiflow Mod version that includes the Private Server option. So yes, Wiiflow is also compatible with Wiimmfi!

FYI, you can try this beta Wiiflow mod(r1076).

There is a new option called "Private Server" for some Wii games to connect
to wiimmfi.de

I'm surprised that ppl are using the loaders to patch their games. Why aren't people pre-patching and then turning their isos into wbfs?
Because if you patch your game the hard way, you can't play on AltWFC server anymore?
Because users prefer keeping a clean ISO for future use in case of patch update/etc?
Because it's easier to set an option in the loader instead of patching an ISO for users who don't understand how folder and files are working on a computer (and trust me, there are a LOOOT who don't)

Loaders and patcher are doing the exact same thing! it replaces https://nintendowifi.net -> http://wiimmfi.de
So why use the hard patch when the loader is doing it the same thing without the burden to edit the iso on computer?

The only exception is for Mario kart, the loaders don't patch the match-encounter algo, but it doesn't prevent users from playing online and finding random players.
The match-making algorithm patch only removes restrictions on player's level (which isn't better to keep for noob like me, who never played in 100cc or more than 10 times online?) and region restriction if I remember well.
Ah, the Mario kart patcher is also editing displayed text on error messages. not really required/useful.
