Hi, I am new to the Wii in general (got my first one 3 days ago :D).
I used ModMii to set up bootmii, priiloader and usb loader gx via letterbomb and Homebrew Channel.

All worked fine, except for 2 games I wanted to play (TinTin, ...). I googled and found people saying they work without problems with uneek+DI.
So I formatted my sd card and my usb drive and went back into modmii.
There I selected the "Abstinence Wizard" -> Letterbomb -> neek2o 96 -> uneek+DI -> fat32

I thought that it would override the previous changes.
I ran letterbomb and then the controller disconnected. A screen appeared saying to press [A] (with an image of the wii remote) but my controller wasn't doing anything... after waiting 15 minutes I restarted the wii.
everything boots up fine into the wii system menu (skip start screen thingy is on in priiloader) but still no wii remote connection.
I removed the batteries for 5 minutes, put them back in and pressed the sync button... lots of blinking but no connection... I also can't turn on or off my wii with the controller.

System menu version is 4.3

I can still get into the priiloader menu but without a the wii remote it seems pointless.

How can I get my wii remote running again?
Can I somehow reset the wii completely?
Would a GC controller help somehow?

Some help would be appreciated!

Wii Remote will only sync in Home Menu or on the "Health and Safety" warning screen. It will not sync in Priiloader or Homebrew Channel.
  • Press the sync button on the Wii first for a second, then on the remote.
  • Holding the sync button on the Wii long (for 30 seconds or so) deletes all synced controllers if I remember that correctly. Shouldn't ever be needed as the oldest synced controller is removed when too many are in the memory.
  • Try a different Wii Remote
GC-controller will allow using Priiloader, Homebrew Channel and lots of homebrew software but not the Home Menu and very few Wii games.

When you load your emunand, your wiimotes were still synced up to your real nand. All you had to do was sync them up again using the red sync buttons. Or you can try using your sysconf from your real nand on your emunand so that the remotes stay synced across both real and emulated nands simultaneously... this hasn't really worked out very well for me personally, but others have reported success with it. Usbloader gx has the feature to dump just this file from real nand to emunand,or u can do so manually by extracting it from a nand.bin

I overlooked the sync button on the wii! Now I feel stupid hahahaha
Guess normally you did that when you first bought a wii. But mine was used and the controllers already paired.

Simple press didn't work, so tried 30 second press... but maybe it was just that I pressed the button a second time don't know.

Anyhow controllers work again!!
Thank you sooo much!!!! @KleinesSinchen

@XFlak ah so I guess its a good sign they disconnected!
Thank you for the infos! I will continue my evil experiments now muhahahaha!

Oh, and assuming you have one of the newer versions of priiloader installed, you can use the front power/reset buttons on the console to navigate priiloader (similar to how bootmii works). Note that some menus are restricted when navigating using the front console buttons (I. E. System menu hacks iirc)
