Just thinking recently got a switch but seems the kids love it so much
Hardly get a chance to play on the weekends lol
Im trying to complete the zelda game

Would it be overkill to invest and softmod another switch?

What do u all do?

Noticed on ebay some great deals on faulty switches also anyone done many repairs that are successful? One has a blue screen on there

I have my launch Switch (Erista) which I got banned by accidentally connecting to my Wi-Fi while in SX OS, and my 2nd Switch is also a hackable launch system (Also Erista), and is my daily driver for everything legit, like online play. The banned one is for piracy and homebrew. So buying a banned Erista Switch for cheap might be a good option for you.

If a Switch Pro ever sees the light of day, I'll sell my unhacked one.

Hey if you think it's worth it to get a bit of gaming time for yourself, then go for it!
However you said 'recently' for your current Switch? Do your kids have other games machines? Could it just be coz it's new and sooner or later they're gonna ease off, then you may be stood there with 2 Switches thinking you've wasted a bit of dosh? Only you can answer that one really...

Faulty Switches... well that one's a bit of a gamble isn't it. A lot can be repaired yes, and this can vary on your own skill/who you can send it off to, unless you're a pro I'd not bother.

Agreed with above on having one modded, one not.

and I currently have an OLED for my Legit games and for online

I have only 1. - As soon as I heard about SXOS (Dec 2017) I bought one. Launch V1. - I'm still using it to this day.
256GB Micro SD for SysNAND. Online play and eShop.
512GB Micro SD for EmuNAND, completely offline, Homebrew etc.

That has been my set up since day 1 and works perfect.

I got 3 a Estria launch (banned) a switch lite and A "main" Mariko (Red box) i say main cause that Mariko has my NSO account with games i purchased (my lite is my aux main) so it needs a network connection to play any dled games on it

I have a hacked switch as long as you set it up right and don't screw up it can be used for legit and piracy all you need is sysnand and emunand

got a steamdeck and set up the emulator, runs pretty well and I honestly like the haptics etc. more than the switch. But to give a clear answer: No, I won't buy a second switch
Depends on your case though, back in the day my friend and their siblings each had their own gameboy etc.
