Gaming What do you think'll be the Switch Naming Scheme?

3ds has 3D, Wii U had U, SNES had Super, DS had..... DS (Think about it).

This also applies to homebrew, which will be very interesting.

Which do you think the Switch'll have? (Besides Switch of course)

Nintendo won't get away from their tried and true style naming convention. Don't know if everyone's seen it, but AVGN did an episode about Nintendo power and in it addressed their naming convention in hilarious fashion.

and as for the homebrew, people like using codenames, so the NES emulator could be NXES.

I thought about it for a little while, and I, unsurprisingly, think it'll be Switch.

New Super Mario Bros Switch
Mario Kart Switch (which sounds like the perfect name for a Double Dash "sequel", to me)
Pokemon Switch
Metroid Switch

Those are some of the names for potential games I thought of. To me, these names sound pretty good.

Or maybe they'll use LF for low frame rate on the tablet. (With a sticker that says "As seen in the reveal trailer!") Mario Kart LF, Mario LF, Met-- Just kidding no good Metroid games Nintendo hates that, New Super Mario Bros. LF, Zelda: Breath of the LF, all that good stuff.

I honestly think the frame rate for the tablet (or whatever you want to call it) won't be as big of an issue as people make it out to be.

You forgot about the Gamecube, though. What was the naming scheme there?
Oh wait. There was none.
You see, there are exceptions.

And I hope the same will happen to the Switch. Would have liked titles like "Starfox NX" or "Super Mario NeXt", but Switch at the end of a game title? Not really my taste, to be honest.

Edit: I guess I could also live with NS (for Nintendo Switch). Would be fun to see how that would turn out here in Germany.

Super Metroid is the only Metroid game that has followed Nintendo's naming scheme, so I find this highly unlikely.

That is exactly what I was going to say. My guess is that we will get things like "Super Mario S" or something from now on.

The name Switch makes me think it will be like the Gamecube where Nintendo didn't have strange naming conventions tied to the name of the system for any of their games.
