Gaming What can I do with a borrowed Wii U?

So after a few months of sending it back and forth to get it fixed, it is finally fixed fully (at least I think). I also borrowed the following games:
- Nintendo Land
- NSMBU
- Some sort of sonic racing game or what?
- Some Wii shovelware
No Wiimotes came either, just the console and gamepad.

I played Nintendo Land for a bit, it is quite fun but it gets boring without Miiverse.
NSMBU is literally the same as NSMBUD that I already have on switch, except for Miiverse support, but Miiverse is still dead.
Not interested in the sonic game.
Not even talking about the shovelware, everyone knows what it means...

All of the preinstalled apps such as Wii U chat are also dead and useless.

If you're wanting to tell me to homebrew it - I've tried, failed miserably, now I'm forbidden from trying to homebrew it again.

Any sort of free app or something in the eshop that still functions?

The only way that you are going to get free games is if you hack it. No free games exist on the (WiiU) EShop. If you are brave enough to try again, try here.

Then there isn't really anything more you can with it. If you have many books on your shelf you can support them with the WiiU.

While eShop is still active, you could just buy some more games (or Wii and Wii U discs -- need a WIi Remote for Wii games).

yeah, I bought 76 games in total on the wii u. I play a grand total of 2, usually just 1, pirated games on all consoles combined. they're both on the wii u.

IF you have a very powerful computer, you can emulate Wii U with CEMU, and use the gamepad as a controller. You can play many free games that way.

Yes, my computer even struggles with GameCube lol, there is no hope for running such an emulator like CEMU on there.

There shouldnt be ANY brick risk unless you're trying to use CBHC. The only ways you're gonna brick from modding is if you're an idiot and delete SLC files or format / delete the DS VC game you used for CBHC
