Unmodding an Xbox 360

Hi everyone!
Is there anyway to remove the RGH/JTAG hack from an Xbox 360? Would you be able to use it like a retail console after it's been unmodded? Like, connect to Xbox live,etc.
Any help would be appreciated.

If you kept your profile clean and are using a formatted security sectorred or new hard drive then no.
That's why one keeps a clean copy of the NAND at hand to reverse the hacks done to it.

I never used my legit profile on the 360. I also formatted the HDD.

Would it be a good idea to use a dummy account for a few days and connect to Xbox Live after unmodding the console? Just to be safe.

It would be a better idea to keep the hacked unit hacked and get a retail unit for your save uploads.

Yeah, just sell the system. You could buy a new, used system for less and have some money left over for a game.

If you're using a original MS harddrive then yes, you'll have to inject the original emulator partition back into the drive.
If you're using a upgraded one (one without a security sector) the HDD won't be read.

So I injected partition 2 into my HDD and when I open partition 2 there are 2 folders.
Compatibility, and TBXDM(sorry if I wrote the name wrong)
Is it supposed to be like this?

yes. compatibility contains the files for xbox emulation. I think you need to use an official update to populate it if it isn't already.

Iirc, opening the emulator partition screws it up.
It's been way over a decade since I last did such a thing so memory may be a bit fuzzy.
The best way to restore it is just to inject it back, it should overwrite the entire partition correctly as the file is just a 1:1 copy of the partition.

If anything, delete the contents on the drive with xexmenu or any other file browser on 360 and then connect it back to your PC.

Remember, we only have the ss.bin for one make/model, so other drives will not work officially.
