City of London police, supported by the National Crime Agency's cyber crime unit, have detained a 17 year old male from Oxfordshire, United Kingdom over what appears to be an investigation regarding the recent and monumental Rockstar Games leaks of last week as well as other hacking attempts possibly related to Uber Technologies.

Rumours circulating on Twitter suggest he was operating as part of the hacking group Lapsus$. He remains in police custody at this time.

More details are expected to be released by the police or possibly FBI later today.

On the evening of Thursday 22 September 2022, the City of London Police arrested a 17-year-old in Oxfordshire on suspicion of hacking, as part of an investigation supported by the @NCA_UK’s National Cyber Crime Unit (NCCU).

Would not say "deserve"... That analogy can falsely applied to so many situtations, most of which are pretty freaking dark. However, the low hanging fruit (in this case Rockstar) is usually what the hackers/leakers go for. If my house was unlocked and had minimal security, of course people are going to break into it. Not because I deserved it, but because those with ill-intent want the easier targets.
