Not surprised this is happening because companies nowadays would rather sell their games as a service than as a product, so this way you don't actually ever own it and can't demand "I bought it so I play whenever I feel like it!" and now, here we are.
Paid multiplayers become unavailable after a considerable amount of time is nothing new, but DLC which people paid for? Shame on them.
This makes me wonder what will happen to games that require a constant online (PSN/XBL/etc) connection in order to play it. Remember NFS: The Run (this was a pretty awesome game, imo)? EA has made the game somewhat unplayable, although there are ways to get around it and actually play it.
I'm glad preservation/piracy exists so people can actually play these games (except the MP ones) since the publishers refuse to support and allow its users to play it.
What will be of Gran Turismo 7 in 10-20 years time? Who knows. Hopefully, the entire game is available than a demo-like experience.
