Tinfoil error installing. 2016-0002

I've got a unpatched switch running 14.1.2 with AMS 1.3.2

Managed to install AIO switch updater and have updated the sigpatches (and rebooted)

Downloaded Tinfoil 14.0 NRO self installer and when I try and install it from hbmenu I keep getting an error has occurred. code 2016-0002.
All the posts I've read say they solved it by updating the sigfiles.

I'm trying to install it to get out of applet mode as I don't have any original games I can use.

Any ideas? I've tried reinsralling AMS as well. Still no luck.

Get rid off this AIO in an instant and install those sigpatches manually, like you should've in the first place.
Use those https://github.com/ITotalJustice/patches

Also, I rather recommend DBI from here https://github.com/rashevskyv/dbi since you can use it at least once in applet mode to install a small backup, to then use the title override method (holding R (not ZR) while launching a title until you reach hbmenu).

not sure why I didn’t see that you already recommended DBI. Great installer!

Solve the catch 22 of needing a game to get past the applet issue by downloading a small nsp (Othello for example) and installing it with one of these:

Installers​

• Tinwoo — A nice installer for when you just want to install.
• DBI — Capable feature filled and fast installer.
• Goldleaf — The kitchen sink but it can also install games.
• Tinfoil — Polished installer. Recommend the Self installing version.

Thanks, removed AIO and manually installed the updates. Didn't have any effect. Same error on tinfoil.

Then install DBI and othello and managed to get out of applet mode. At least goldleaf and ns-usbloader are working now. (tinfoil still gives the same error even out of applet mode)

Tried both sigpatches from iTotalJustice and GBATemp. No luck
I've got a spare SD card - I think I might try setup from scratch as I've done so much messing around trying to get it working. Might need a fresh install.

Good, cause the other reason for that error might be a bad sd card.

Mate, you used DBI to escape applet mode, but still use Goldleaf for installation? Don't and continue to use DBI for your own good.
