Hi all,
Been playing around with my good old wii lately and relearning some stuff. I've modded my wii quite a long time ago (I think you still needed a Lego game) so I was wondering if my system needs to be updated. My homebrew channel has quite some apps installed and with half of them I don't even know why they are installed.
I removed some emulators because I don't need them (only play wii-games on it).
Two issues I have that I like to solve (might not be related to my setup)
- Wii hangs trying to access the SD card directly - it works fine via memory management. This is an old issue that I've had from the start and never bothered to fix. If anyone has an idea let me know.
- Wii memory is almost full and not able to install anymore wads. Wanted to uninstall a few, but it seems like the WAD installer requires the original WAD file for uninstalling? I've seen posts of folks using their Hard Drives to play wads. That would be nice, but the tutorials I've seen were confusing. Maybe I didn't find the right one or I just need to read a bit more.
Also seen a post that you can start a wad without installing, but not sure how that works.
See syscheck below, might give some information for the more experienced/advanced users. Cleaning up the wii would be nice as well, I have no idea why I have so many IOS's and if they are required...
