According to rumors the switch two was In The works however these rumor have been fading away not to mention the OLED switch realer most likely being the switch 2 all along and I think the next console will end up Somali to the wiiU if a switch 2 was made I think Nintendo know this as well and plans to innovate severely and I think the next console is ether gonna be perfect and popular or end up like the virtual boy and wiiU but the signs are pointing to masterpiece but we never know when it comes to those bastards at Nintendo and I think that Nintendo may take a severe amount of time for their next console to come out and the switch will end up like the Wii or will be left in the dust although I think the next console may also be a hybrid of a console and handheld device however this is just off the logic of Nintendo

According to people who had datamined leaked official SDKs the OLED model was originally supposed to be an upgraded Switch, like how the PS4 Pro is a better PS4 or the X ONE X is a better XBox One. Apparently devkit firmwares had DLSS support for a while but it was reliant on a chip that no retail Switch has shipped with.

It was likely cancelled due to the chip shortage in the pandemic, but since other components weren't affected to the same degree as the CPUs they just used the old SoC in the OLED and shipped it as a slightly better version rather than a true "pro" model. We saw the same thing happen with the Google Pixel 5. Originally it was supposed to ship with the new Tensor SoC but it was replaced with an older Snapdragon because Google weren't able to manufacture enough Tensor chips. The rest of the design stayed the same apart from that one change.
