Hello I wanted to swap my New 3DS XL screen that is dual TN with IPS screens from a Japanese New 3DS XL that I bought from ebay. I paid a professional to swap the screens for me because I don't think I can trust myself for the top screen part. So, I was wondering if it was necessary to install CFW right now, because I am aware of the screen calibration and HWCAL settings. Or can I do this process after installing or do I have to do something beforehand sending it in for the service. I need someone to help me walk down with these steps.
You should be able to install CFW after the replacement has been done. The screens will work with the incorrect hwcal, it'll just look bad. This thread should have more info regarding the process of loading the new hwcal
Personally, I wouldn't bother. The differences between the two screens are so marginal that you don't notice the difference unless you play your 3ds at a 70-degree angle, and it's not worth potentially damaging both machines.

Talk about marginal... Here I Posted the comparison of all of my New 3DS XLs. On the left is a Japanese Pearl White New 3DS XL with dual IPS screens, the center is my old Solgaleo Lunala New 3DS XL with a Top IPS and bottom TN, and to the right is my new Solgaleo Lunala New 3DS XL with dual TN screens. The issue with the White 3DS is that the screens are on the cooler side, has less contrast, and generally has the colors off. My old 3DS is the setup I'm looking for! The screens have near if not a perfect white balance, contrastier than the other 2, and has colors on point, but is a bottom TN and the 3DS is not in my ideal condition. My new 3DS is in perfect condition but has the ugly dual TN setup and has everything way off.

Forgot to mention that the new 3DS has a warmer tone than the other 2 which is less desirable than a cooler tone.

My ultimate goal is swapping the new 3DS with the Japanese dual IPS screens and having the same calibration that my old one has. Just stating this so it can be clear of what I want.
