15 years after its first release on the PSP, Crisis Core - Final Fantasy VII is making a return in remastered format in a few weeks' time. In anticipation of the game's launch, Square Enix aired a new, 3 minutes-long trailer:

The story of CRISIS CORE –FINAL FANTASY VII– REUNION begins seven years before the events of FINAL FANTASY VII and follows Zack Fair, a young Shinra SOLDIER operative. As his adventure unfolds, he discovers the dark secrets of Shinra’s experiments and the monsters they create.

Crisis Core - Final Fantasy VII - Reunion features HD graphics, rearranged soundtrack, fully voiced dialogue in English and Japanese, and an updated combat system. The game will launch on PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC this December 13.

Well, some of the dialog fells a little stiff but it does at least seem like the gameplay is going to be improved a lot from the original so it at least has that going for it graphics improvements aside.

I'm surprised they didn't release this title until after the remakes are done.

It's the exact same dialog delivered the exact same way, just with new actors. So yeah, to be expected...subs are gonna be a must for this one.

They definitely want people to be aware of Zack's story before playing the new FFVReborn. This is a major departure from the original FFVII because tgis was a major plotpoint revealed very late into the game. You now basically know out of the gate that Cloud isn't who he says he is and at the end of Remake Zack is put right under the spotlight!

Yeah has been an observation made by a lot of people around the web. I'm not sure I ever got around to playing the original, or if I did, only very briefly.

The trailer fell kind of flat on me. A lot of it has to do w/ the low energy voice acting. I'll grab it after it goes on sale at a steep discount 🙄🤷🏽‍♂😅😆😂.

It's too bad, because I heard FFVII Remake had great English dubbing... Which will be jarring in terms of continuity.

Never played this on the psp. I preordered it from Amazon for the ps5. Also bought tales of xillia 1 and 2 (new). I might opt out of my cfw ps3, but I'm still researching the mania. I have a superslim that's never had any exploits on it, can't take any risks.

I've yet to give it a playthrough with the English dubbing, so I have no opinion yet. If CC and Remake have similar quality dubbing, then what I said doesn't hold weight.

It doesn't actually make a lot of sense financially for S-E to release 3 Final Fantasy games in the same 12 month period.

December 2023: FF7r2.

Kind of feels they'd cannibalize their own market by doing that.

I couldn't care less about Crisis Core or FF16.

I only care about FF7R2.
