I finally got everything installed without error, despite being able to compile sm64 for the ps2 with a crippled install. no errors compiling everything and it took 30 minutes for the entire toolchain and sdk components, where my old computer took about two and a half hours. I put the new laptop in my room earlier today after getting the compiling stuff situated. couldn't be happier, though some things with windows 11 takes some getting used to or need to be tweaked.
