1206 just means 12mm long by 6mm wide.
Not trying to be a smartass but this is wrong.

1206 is 0.125 in x 0.06 in or 3.2 mm x 1.6 mm

See the chart here

I'm sorry, I was directed to this thread to confirm the pin assignment of a MOSFET, but due to my own ignorance, I am unsure of where to connect the pins. I am feeling frustrated and would appreciate some guidance. I thought it might be easier to connect wires rather than remove the chip capacitor, so I would like to try it in this way. Could someone please explain to me in clear English?

Hi, do you have any tip for soldering the mosfet? I'm finding very difficult to solder with my iron, because those pins are too small. Do I need a heat gun?
Thank you.

I need some help with this; is there a different mosfet with similar enough characteristics that can substitute for this secific model? Coz nobodys selling it locally in my country and Id have to pay customs with my kidneys if I imported it.

I sort of posted a couple datasheets in the original thread and asked if those would work but I got no response...

you have posted much bigger and much weaker ones.
you need 2mm x 2mm SMD mosfet with 70A peak current

np2016 is an alternative

I'm planning to use 26awg, would I need to go smaller?

I would want to attach wires to the capacitor, then connect the other end to the mosfet. You're saying the wires need to be very short?

I have a switch lite btw

I think maybe I should modify Sx cable to fit this project, so that we could stay away completely with hwfly. The motivation behind this is I would like to prevent people from damage their APU with Mosfet and in the future, people don't have to buy spare part from hwfly.
Update: I have modified and made it smaller and cheaper than original sx cpu cable.

WIP: Increase pad size to easier hand-solder.

Cost check with Oshpark for Flex option: $2.20 for 3.

Feedbacks/advices are welcomed.

BTW,@rehius just want to ask a quick question, Can I replace IRFHS8342 with:
- IRF7103
- AO3402
=> The point of this replacement is making it a little easier for novice/newbie who are not capable of soldering tiny components.
Thanks in advanced.

Mounts like on the SX CPU flex would be advisable, reduces he risk of the caps being torn off from negligence or a hard fall etc

This is awesome work!
If I may, a couple of suggestions:

i) move the P15 (gate) test point to a different position, so it stays away from the metallic shell surrounding the CPU (less probability of shorts)

ii) change the "k" to "c" as requested on the other thread by rehius.

PS: loved the homebrew slogan :)

yes smaller, 32/34/36 awg are the most common I believe.
