Judging by forum/comment posts, there’s only three things Linux users do:
1) Boast that they use Linux
2) Try to get Windows software working
3) Compile stuff

no, updating palib code designed for windows in linux is my job, also i use wine because pagfx. i else do not need windows, oh wait i destroy windows computers

Wine is not a great alternative to running Windows applications. Why not use VirtualBox in a Windows environment instead.

Yeah. Wine is only really good for smaller/less complex Windows apps, and even then it can't run Metro (UWP) apps, and even then a VM isn't good performace wise compared to dual-booting.

Personally I use both VirtualBox and VMware in case one of them doesn't work for the task.

wine works, vms are slow.

I do, sometimes, when I have Win10. Namely Paint 3D and Sphero EDU, but yeah outside of those two (which to me should just be regular EXEs..) I don't really use any.
