Online and offline play on CFW Switch

Hello,

I am about to mod my OG v1 Switch, and know playing online can lead to being banned. If I were to play offline on my modded Switch, then use my unmodded Switch Lite for example, for online play, would that be a good solution? I am usiing physical game carts. If I play online using my unmodded Switch lite with the same game cartridges I use with my CFW Switch, will the saved game be on my lite as well? Physical game saves are kept on the cartridge right?

As for digital backups, how do I avoid being banned if I play online? I heard something about using cfw on emunand with exosphere and dns.mitm, and keeping WiFi off in emunand (cfw). Can you change between emunand and sysnand?

Also, are there other things that can get me banned as well?

yes you can boot into ofw, sys cfw or emunand. incognito/exosphere your emunand and only do pirated stuff there. then if you want to play legit owned games online then boot to OFW and play them normally that way.

Got it, I've always thought sysnand+cfw = emunand. That's what I meant, at the start though. Hopefully my point still came across.

Your unmodded switch wont be affected in any way by the modded one, except maybe if you do something like changings your accounts profile picture to a custom one.
About SysCFW and Emunand, use an emunand for backups and block the connection to nintendos servers on it via atmospheres dns.mit and/or 90DNS. Additionally you could also hide the emunands identity via exospheres incognito, but be carefull to only activate it for the emunand, not the sysnand, otherwise accidentilly booting the SysCFW could leave extra traces.
There is also no way to play backups online without getting banned, but playing them offline on the emunand is mostly safe.

If you wan't a bit more confort, you could also use SysCFW for everything thats not backups, while it still being relativelly safe.
This would allow you changing between Sys and Emunand with just a controller, greatly reducing how often you need to inject a payload.
If you use SysCFW you just need to make sure to always use atmopheres title overwrite (holding R while starting an application) to start homebrew and don't use something like tinfoil or install any nsps/xcis, especially not homebrew onces, on it, and don't clear the system logs or do any unnessesary nand backup restores, since missmatching logs are one way to get banned.
The last one is also the reason why its important to only use one nand online, and don't mix them.
Also be carefull with romhacks and cheating while going online, and don't fuck with the online services in other ways, like changing the Profile picture to a custom one, doing manuall requests with pc tools to nintendos servers and similar thigs.

If you keep these things in mind, even the SysCFW is mostly safe, since atmosphere is build to allow you to online with it.
I didn't boot the original firmware in a few years, while normally going online and updating in SysCFW, same for a few friends of mine, no ban yet.

im assuming so, that guide mentions creating a emunand and im sure it mentions incognito/exosphere/90dns. aside from that its just a matter of booting your switch according to what you want to do.

Cartridges are read-only, save data literally cannot be stored on them.
