Hardware nobody knows what 3DS stands for

Im tired of ppl who see all these fake or real pictures of the new nintendo handheld and says time after time that DS Stands for Dual Screen so it therefore wont be possible that the new nintendo handheld only would have one screen.

first, DS was not Dual Screen officially by Nintendo from the beginning.
second, the name 3DS is just a working name just like Revolution (Wii)
third, it could equally stand for 3D(s) and not (3)DS, so the S could be any word that starts with an S.

so it can be two screens on nintendos next handheld but it could of course also only be one screen, i would be happy for one screen

The point is that it could go either way. It's a play on number/letter order.

Also, the name 3DS doesnt necesarilly mean that it WONT be a ds just because it doesnt contain 2 Ds.
It could just be a play on words, and that is how I view it.
Seeing as the DS is such a successful console already for Nintendo, why would they go ditch those ideas?
Keep in mind the current market they have.

'3D' - The 3 Dimentional aspect of the console.

'DS' - The fact it has dual screens like it's predecessor.
