Hacking Need help with R4 Revolution for DS Cards

Over the weekend I picked up a dozen used Nintendo DS + Gameboy consoles (he was selling them only as a lot). Along with the consoles the lot also had a bunch of R4 cards but they did not contain their respective micro SD cards. I am trying to get one of the R4 cards to work in my Nintendo DS lite but after having spent numerous hours I can't get any of them to work. I am attaching a picture of the various cards. I'd appreciate any help in configuring these cards to work on my Nintendo DS lite.

I suppose the first step would be to determine the the kernel of these cards, but I've had no luck with that since they appear to be really old versions.

Supposedly the DS Linker card is a direct drop in but when I use it the DS lite gets stuck on the loading menu screen.

Also, does it matter what type of SD cards I am using? I was using an 8 GB micro SDHC card.

The kernels for acekard2 and DSLinker are the easiest to locate and should work without problems.
As they are quite old, remember to use small SD cards (4/8gb).
