Hacking NAND gone in broken Ext. HDD need help.

Hi everyone,

I'm in a very interesting situation regarding the switch, i will try my best to explain myself:

Like a year ago i installed the official 5.1.0 or something and created a NAND backup. After some time and because new games needed and updated OS, i installed 6.2.0 with ChoiDujourNX and because of some problems using the SD Card i pretty much stopped using the switch for months. I saved the NAND backup in an Ext. HDD but unfortunately it fell to the floor and doesn't work anymore so i lost the original NAND backup with stock 5.1.0.

I just made a NAND backup with CFW 6.2.0 but (correct me if i'm wrong, please) common sense tells me i shouldn't write the NAND with a CFW in it but that's just me.

I'm not sure what to do and i don't belive i can get back my NAND backup from the broken HDD.

I just want the switch to work with original cartridges and sell it.

If you already lost the NAND backup then there is nothing much you can do about that, but as 6.2.0 you probably got a tainted NAND as you already ran cfw on it prior to making a NAND backup, just occasionally make NAND backup so you be able to restore it if something happen, 6.2.0 is really old since current firmware is 9.1.0.

So if i understand correctly, i won't be able to sell it as an unmodified Switch?, damn, that sucks.

Correct the NAND is tainted, as you already lost the NAND backup so it is no longer clean, there is the long process of using Choidujour (PC version) to rebuild the NAND but it is a hassle, not sure if you will be able to get 5.1.0 firmware to boot, it need to match with what it was previously online or it get flagged for a ban.
