I think it has more to do with preventing piracy than trying to honor some imaginary property rights of nintendo.

It includes their code and that's exactly the same situation like with ROMs. If they get your real data, they can kick your ass and then you can see their "imaginary right's". You can say, what you wan't. They always win, if they can proof it.

I don't know if you were talking with me, but what I wanted to say is that there's Indeed some way to dump the ram via software, and smea is the proof.

Since not much has changed in between the gateway and his, I would imagine its most likely still 4.5 (Or a bit lower).
