My 3DS with CFW/homebrew got corrupted somehow and now will not detect any SD cards

My SD card and/or 3DS got corrupted tonight. I was trying to edit my pokemon save on my SD card via a checkpoint backup on my PC & I deleted some weird looking file that was around 3-4 gb or so that was in the checkpoint folder for my pokemon gold backup (not sure if this has anything to do with it) and upon ejecting and re-inserting my sd card back into my 3ds I got the message "could not detect an SD Card. The software on the SD Card could not be displayed".
I even had a backup of my entire SD card saved on my PC from over a year ago and copied and pasted it to a completely different FAT32 formatted SD Card and it gave me the same error code.
Any ideas? I'm pretty desperate and very PISSED off here. Thanks in advance for any help! Seriously!

I have the same issue. I system transferred to clone my N3DS to N3DS XL after the transfer the system wont boot with a microSD card in. It works only without the microSD card. I tried different MicroSD cards. Formatted them differently. Tried a card with nothing inside. I even did a system reset. All with the same result. Black screen and whenever I try to mount the MicroSD card using Godmode9 it freezes. That is with all kind of cards.

I looked at the contacts and used a voltmeter to check if there is a short and cleaned it resoldered any joints that I thought might cause the problem. There was nothing. Same result. I tried to replaced it temporarily with my other 3ds microsd card adaptor to get it to work but still nothing.

Before me trying to clone the system it was working but sometimes becomes undetected. thats what made me wonder if its a hardware or software...

Need a fix for this.

Well, I don't know why you're saying "any SD cards" when you've tested exactly two SD cards. It is distinctly possible that your "completely different FAT32 formatted SD Card" was likewise defective or otherwise not formatted correctly. The optimal way is to format your completely different card with Godmode9, as in https://3ds.hacks.guide/godmode9-usage#format-an-sd-card ; if you use other PC tools, you might need to double-check that there isn't an extra partition on the card for whatever reason.

You've certainly been a lot more thorough. The only things I can think of are to replace the slot entirely, or to see if an ntrboot cart can still access files on the SD card (though that seems unlikely).

I've heard reports of pins in the slot getting bent; I don't know if you checked for those.

If you mean the pins inside the sd card reader that would be really difficult without desoldering the shielding which will melt the thing as its attached to plastic destroy it so no I could not check unfortunately

I have no idea how people typically check those pins, but it's probably not by desoldering the shielding, as you say.

I understand the replacement part is not especially expensive or difficult to obtain.

On a old 3DS with a standart "big" SD-Card slot its nearly easy and possible to check and adjust bent pins. On the new 3DS its a micro SD Card slot, but some seem to do it with a thin needle there.. ..
