mods totk crash (nintendo switch)

Hello everyone,

i made some text modification on the game and i put it on the contents/id/romfs but when i launch the game it crash.
Anyone can help?

same boat. I think it's down to the mods needing to be placed somewhere else or needing something additional. I even copied an unaltered actor file straight from my dump and put it by itself in a YUZU modpack in the typical contents/id/romfs directory like i would any other game and it still wouldn't load. YUZU just loads continuously and when tested on my switch console, it causes the whole thing to crash and require a soft reboot

UPDATE: Well, I've proven it is moddable to an extent with currently existing tools.
Switch Console: FAIL (system crash)
YUZU: FAIL (loads forever)
Ryujinx: Success
All 3, I loaded the mod exactly how you normally would. It really is just a problem with the way Atmosphere and Yuzu patch mods into the game

You can't mod ToTK currently on Atmosphere because game has too many files for Atmosphere to handle.
Atmosphere needs new implementation of layeredfs to handle games with big count of files (ToTK and Fire Emblem Engage) since it cannot reserve more space than actually is taking

just a question, atmosphere handled BOTW which has, i think, a large count of files so why he can"t handle TOTK?

Not as much as Engage. And ToTK has more than Engage.

BoTW has less files than Animal Crossing with newest updates installed. Animal Crossing was the first game that had >100k files in romfs.

BoTW was relying on categorizing assets through packaging them, but it seems on Switch in the end streaming works better if those files are not packaged to archives. So they decided to put them naked, compressing them individually.

thank you, i checked it and totk have more than 300K files and FF engage 186K
