Is this legit, or is it a 'homebreww' console?

It seems to me this is more of a 'homebrew' console, made by a couple of friends.
Is this thing LEGIT or a 'homebrew' console?

Well it IS made by a dodgy Chinese company, but because of the community this thing has seen A LOT of emulators, games, apps, etc already. So, I think you would call it 'legit'.

Why does homebrew =/= legit?

Just because its open doesn't mean it isn't "real" or whatever. The fact it may not have many "official" games means nothing, IMO. Homebrew is pretty sweet, and the fact the console supports it out of the box is pretty cool.

Its a console with no restrictions you can run whatever you want on it

on other devices you need to hack it or buy extra hardware

ds and dsi - flashcard
ipod touch/iphone - jailbreak
wii - soft mod or modchip
etc

Since when does homebrew mean non-legit? It's like saying running an indie game on an Xbox makes it non-legit (indie=homebrew+profit).

Its all of the above. It allows for homebrew and has a good community of homebrew developers built around it but its also a totally legit and well constructed piece of hardware.

I mean, it is made to run (illegal) roms, basically... but you can do more on it...

as far as looks are concerned its not that legit

stole design of gba micro
buttons are pretty much the same as ds
the menu is a ripoff of sony's xmb

and dont even get me started on the a330
they just went for the psp ripoff look
