If so, how steep is the difficulty in doing so, and can it work without causing problems/bricks?

I'm working with some people to write some hardware-intensive homebrew and we think this could help.

The best you'll get as far as I know is running the Wii U's CPU at full speed (1.24 GHz) in vWii mode. I don't know the specifics for this, but I think it involves using the Wii VC wrapper.

It's theoretically possible to change the CPU's clock multiplier through soldering. It's possible to overclock the GPU and/or change the CPU's clock multiplier from 3x to 5x in software on a Wii U.

It's actually 1.215 GHz (5x 243 MHz).

Hello.:)

The CPU is theoretically already "overclocked".

Gamecube Mode - 485 Mhz
Wii Mode - 729 Mhz

The Wii is an "advanced" developed Hardware from the Gamecube not an technical Innovation.

The same for the GPU:

- based on Gamecube´s Flipper:
Gamecube Flipper -162 Mhz
Wii advanced development from Flipper (now Hollywood) - 243 Mhz

Thats a main reason why the Wii has not so great graphics for example on Call of Duty Modern Warfare or Far Cry Vengeance compared to other Consoles from that Generation.Thats why the WiiU came out.:)

I don´t think it makes sense to overclock an Hardware who is already on their 3D Limit of skills.:)

I was hoping that there would be a software solution to this. And no I don't want to use the Wii U as it is specifically Wii homebrew my team's making.

The reason why we want to do it is mostly for a higher framerate in 3D rendered game environments, as we're trying to push the Wii to its limits. Just wanted to know if it was possible to loosen the constraints a bit to add some more "sparkle".

Good morning.😉

For what I now,still NO.
If someday maybe yes,it will maybe have the same Effect like on the Wii U - The Games will crash....

The Wii U for the VC Wii Mode (for Homebrew/Emulators) has something for that Topic.:)

Realistically, not gonna happen. Ever. Use a Wii U.
