Tutorial How to play PS1 games on New 3ds ~50-60fps!

working for me, i know its the menu, but 60fps is in game to for me
im super lazy and used paint.

(Opening the Rosalina menu to take a screenshot lowers the frame-rate, so its not accurate. In-game fps is about 53-59 fps, sometimes lower on cut-scenes, it might be because i have frame-skip on 3, experiment!)

This is a really exciting development. I will be watching this closely. Does sound work with the games or must sound be disabled? Also, do you have any intention of rewriting the guide and making it more streamlined?

i had thought about reformatting. i am running every game i play, no development needed lol
i dont write for forums so i format like crazy, but steps re in correct order,
just think of it as required reading, like 3ds.hacks.guide lol
as for sound, it speeds up the game when disabled.
you can try sound.
using my settings will play games at 50-60fps

i just learned about CFW 2 weeks ago.
just installed the ps1 emulator a couple days ago.
like i said, you can try sound. but you will most likely suffer depending on game and settings/options configuration.

its all trial and error for me.
reading articles, seeing what people are playing.
but it seems whatever i play works.

Don't follow the compatibility list, i deleted that from the tutorial.
a new one will have to be made.

alot of games seem to play fine.

i tried a differently nigthly and the problem is gone. it still flickers when first started, but after a screen change or two it's stopped. it came back up when i saved a state in spyro, but it went away when i talked to a fairy and saved the game in-game. thank you for all of your suggestions and help!

I placed my BIOS in the designated folder, once extracted, another time left inside the .zip. Doesn't recognize that there is a BIOS file. What should I be doing here exactly?

Yes. I don't know if it matters but I'm using an EBOOT.pbp; The game is Thousand Arms. Trying to run a different BIOS because currently the game is stuck on the first line of dialogue, unable to progress, sometimes getting stuck on second line of dialogue. Not sure what else I could do here.

Man, if RetroArch, a multi system emulator without much system-specific optimization, runs this at near fullspeed, imagine a dedicated 3DS port of a PS1 emu ala SNES9x for Old 3DS.

hmm. im not sure bios even work for .pbp formats. someone correct me if im wrong.
im using games in .bin format
and every game i play works, no bios.

Edit: Found it. You have to load the game first and go to core settings... Kinda weird, but ok.

THPS still runs like garbage, though - anything else I can do to improve performance past the settings detailed in the OP?

i guess i was wron, its crap. im goin to try number 2, 3 and 4
