Hey i worked out a way to downgrade from 5.1.0 via a windows 10 pc here is my video on how to do it

Afaik if you enter recovery mode to update (because the last updage screw you up) you can re-download the same update over and over. They don't really hace to know why are you doing it (unless recovery doesn't update the same way, but I recall the 3DS one did)

Tthe 5.1.0 update didn't burn a fuse so a downgrade is perfectly possible. OP may not have proof but since the procedure is fairly easy to perform if you have a 5.x NAND backup I don't doubt the legitimacy of this video.

With this come a few essential questions:
1. What happens if you try to restore NAND backup from a different Switch that is say on ver. 1 (for the sake of soft mode)?
2. If we don't start backing up our Sys versions now, will we be able to go to a specific version in the future (AFAIK no firmware download page up and running by Nintendo as of yet)

Your Switch won't boot because of totally different encryption keys.

Should be doable considering what happened in the vita scene with henkaku for v.3.60

You've just described fusee gelee + atmosphere. If you're expecting anything better than that, then maybe it's doable but nobody has any clue how to do it.

Ignore the clowns who say its fake. No efuses were burned so downgrading is easy as long as you have a good dump. If kinda pointless.

It's a register that can be read relatively easily after installing a new firmware. Someone takes the dive, then reports if it burnt a fuse or not so it can be documented.
